As part of the third edition of the Porto Design Biennale, Casa do Design hosted the event's main exhibition, Petrichor, the Smell of Rain. Due to the high number of visitors and the interest shown by the public, the exhibition, curated by designer Fernando Brízio, extends beyond the biennale period and will be on display until March 16. To see, there is a selection of interfaces that appeal to the imagery of water: artificial heart valves, rituals, plant rafts, ship traffic trackers, underwater vehicles to map underground aquifers, the use of bio-pigments, water collectors, among many others. The Petrichor exhibition was conceived based on the curatorial proposal developed by Fernando Brízio for the Porto Design Biennale 2023, dedicated to the theme "Being Water: How we flow together and shape each other".
