Museum of Vibrant Matter: Educational Service
Casa do Design offers guided tours to the exhibition 'Museum of Vibrant Matter', within Porto Design Biennale’s programme. These tours are aimed at various audiences and in interaction with different areas and levels of education.
Casa do Design hosts one of the major events of Porto Design Biennale 2021: Museum of Vibrant Matter. Comprising one exhibition and three workshops, the Museum of Vibrant Matter asks us to pay attention to all living things, and seeks to encourage citizens and designers to build new practices and relationships for the future. Curated by Alastair Fuad-Luke, it raises awareness to local materials, whether biological, technical or hybrid, and the need for the community to achieve harmony with as an act of care towards ourselves, other living things, our soils, water and geological elements.
This initiative offers the possibility of scheduling and carrying out guided tours, monitored by curators, specialists and educators from Casa do Design. The visits are aimed at various audiences, including pre-school, primary and secondary school, university and senior university groups, based on the interaction of the exhibition contents with special learning in the teaching of visual arts and national cultural identity.
The exhibition can be visited freely, and free of charge, within the normal opening hours of Casa do Design. Guided tours are also free of charge, complying with COVID-19 guidelines and good practices, only requiring prior booking.
